273/365 Finally, a Camping Trip

We finally tool out the trailer for some camping.  We decided to stay close to home because we have 2 soccer games and play practice tomorrow that nobody wants to miss.  So we only went about a half hour away to Ramona.  Well so far everything is working and we had burgers and delicious smores with gigantic marshmallows with the Thorns.  Fun night!  I hope everybody sleeps well in this tin can.

272/365 Let's Mix It Up!

The Junior High mixer was today.  Now that I have two Junior High girls, I have double the weird

outfits!  The girls were having so much fun together this morning picking out all their clothes, they even

 gladly shared with each other!  It made for a pleasant morning, I enjoyed all the giggling and chaos.

271/365 Picture Wall

I have a bunch of photos taken by some photographer friends of mine that I've been meaning to have

printed.  So I went around to local thrift stores and bought up about 15 frames.  The ones I ended up using

in my entry way I painted all white.  I love seeing all these beautiful pictures of my girls everyday!

270/365 I thought I had a decent picture for today?

So I thought I took a picture of today, but once the light was gone I realized that the only picture I took was

a trial picture while trying to mess with my settings...so Ta Da!  My picture of today.  I know you can

hardly contain yourself.

269/365 Oink Oink I'm Pigging Out on Money!

This is all the pigging out I'll be doing until Sunday, as I started a diet today that has a cheat day built in!

Maybe this will work a little better for me than the last one did.  The last diet I tried had no light at the end

of the carb tunnel.  I got this ugly little cutie pie at an antique store, I believe I was with my sister in law, or

both of them I can't remember.  I love ugly cute!  In my opinion the Japanese do it best when it comes to

antique ugly cute piggy banks.  Yes, I have more than one.

268/365 Tailgate!!!

We played the Kansas City Chiefs today and barely pulled off a win.  It was ugly but we still won.

Hopefully we can look a little better next week against the Dolphins.  We went with the Kafagna's, the

Morrills, and the Sara's.  We had a really great time, Tony grilled up some gigantic burgers and Shannon

brought some amazing cupcakes!  I ate 2, I know, but I am starting my diet tomorrow!  Best kick it off

with a bang, right?

267/365 Another Soccer Saturday!

I really want to do a non soccer picture one of these Saturday's, but apparently it won't be today.  Sadie's

team the Barbie Bandits haven't won a game yet, they still seem to be having a great time, but they are

definitely due a win!  They always look great out there, then they give up a goal right at the end of the

game.  Poor girls they are so cute they deserve a win.  That's how it works...right?

266/365 Steph's Paintings

Today I went out to Stephanie's house to take pictures of some of her paintings.  I have been looking at

her art since college.  In some ways it has changed so much, in others it looks the same to me.  I had a

nice time taking the pictures.  I'm not sure I did a very good job, I think I'll need to go back.  Oh well, It's

just a good excuse to go see Steph.  We had lunch at a Sushi place near to her house, Steph and Belinda

insisted that this tofu tasted awesome, unfortunately it makes me gag!  I looked like a little kid gagging

on tofu at a restaurant.  Stay classy, Lisa!

265/365 Country Flowers

Kristin and I went to the Country flowers antique store in downtown Escondido.  I love all the weird

little do dads and baubles.  They always make me smile.  I didn't buy anything today but the cute

Halloween decor definitely caught my attention.  Is it already that time?  I need to start getting my fall

stuff out.  The best thing about fall is that there are usually owls everywhere!  I can scoop them up and

they will be mine all mine!!!

264/365 Sunflowers

I won a centerpiece drawing this morning at Mothers club.  I really enjoy going to Mothers Club, 

unfortunately I never seem to remember when the meetings are.  I need to get on the ball this year.  The 

first and last meetings are the most fun.  Aren't the centerpieces adorable, Vanessa made them.  She 

always makes everything look great!  I love the tiny little chalkboards.  She is quite a talented lady.

263/365 Hat Day

Sadie found some very cute hats while cleaning up the toy room this afternoon.  She looks cute in hats, I 

just can't get her to wear them for longer than 10 minutes!

262/365 Somebody Loves Me!

Sadie brought me flowers from the yard today.  She is always so proud to bring me pretty little things!

What a sweetheart I am blessed with.

261/365 Anything to not clean my room!

Sophia who will let me take her picture sometimes, will do anything not to clean her room.  Today she had

on sunglasses, hats, scarves, jackets, boots and leg warmers.  Apparently cleaning out the closet requires a

ton of dress-up time.  She was happy to take a break for a couple shots!  She looks a little MJ in this one to

me but it was a fun picture.  Who's Bad.

260/365 Come On Barbie Bandits!

Sadie's soccer team almost won this weekend, but unfortunately fell just a bit short.  Hopefully we can take

them down next week.  These girls really need a win.

259/365 Tomato Tomato

So I love tomatoes.  This one I sliced up and made a caprese salad, it was delicious.  One of Jer's friends

was kind enough to share this bounty from their garden with us.

258/365 Plants for Class

Sadie and I went shopping at the Home Depot nursery today.  She needed plants for a project at school.

We got these plants with strange toilet brush like flowers.  They are amazing colors, definitely photo

deserving.  I think I may try to plant a few in the yard.

257/365 Picture Day

Running late again!  I missed taking pictures of the girls on picture day because we were running a little

late with all my hair fixing, boy those muffins were handy!  I did get a picture of Sadie's hairdo, which I

will proclaim as awesome.  Hopefully this was only the hair she had for pictures, and not the face!

256/365 Streusel Time

 Sophia baked some delicious cinnamon streusel muffins for breakfast in the morning.  Since picture day

is tomorrow I really appreciate the effort, I know I will be running late in the morning with all this hair to

fix! I am also having a friend over for coffee, and treats with coffee are always wonderful!  Doesn't she

just look adorable in her apron?

255/365 Another amazing sunset

I don't know what it is right now but we keep having the most beautiful sunsets!  Not that I'm complaining,

God must be in the painting mood.

254/365 Kayla's Cupcakes

Madison decided to take cupcakes to celebrate her birthday with her class.  I knew the girl to call.  Kayla

graduated Culinary Arts School this summer and has brought over a sample or two of mouth watering

delights.  She did not disappoint!  The cookies and creme were the most amazing things.  I can't even

describe them or I will start to drool.  Thank you Kayla for all your hard work.  Everybody loved them.

253/365 Soccer and a Shower

Today was opening day at the soccer fields, both girls teams tied, but they played hard.  After the games I

rushed over to celebrate Jeremy's cousins upcoming wedding.  After all that I went home to take a nap!

252/365 Happy Birthday

13 years ago today a very important person changed my life.  Happy birthday Madison.  She was so

excited that school was cancelled, because of yesterday's big blackout.  We spent the day at Steph's

having a great and relaxing day.  It felt like summer vacation all over again.

I saw this on the back of a friend of ours' car.  I thought it was funny.  I bet they don't have anybody try to

break into their house anytime soon.

250/365 Celebrate the French?

OK so I popped a bottle of champagne tonight to celebrate...champagne?  I can't really say I just was so

glad the temperature might drop below 80 at some point this evening, that I decided to stop at Bevmo to see

if there was any sort of liquor I can add to champagne, that I haven't tried yet.  Champagne & Chambord

cocktails is one of my favorite drinks.  So I decided I needed to branch out, so I found some Chateau

Pomari and some St. Germain, and can I just say ... Vive la France!  They invented champagne and these

other two jewels that I am enjoying tonight.  Chateau Pomari is a pomegranate liquor, that is pretty tasty,

not as sweet as the raspberry version (Chateau Monet).  But the St. Germain is like nothing I've ever tasted,

it is made from Elder flower blossoms.  I will be slowly working my way through the list of cocktails they

have on their website!

249/365 Ring -a-Ding check out the bling!

Do you remember the sapphires we found in Montana?  Sapphires I had a few of them cut so I could make

jewelry.  I didn't have them heat treated because then they turn the bright blue that all sapphire's have

which is fine, but I do like that Montana Sapphires come in so many colors.  Here's how they turned out.

248/365 Labor Day

Spent most of today relaxing and taking naps!  Lazy I know but it was great.  Then Kristin and the Brown

kids joined us for burgers and a beautiful sunset.

247/365 Feelin' Beachy

Sophia is so lucky, she is getting picked up again, to go to the beach, again.  She went yesterday with the

Balls, and today with the Elders.  Now who's bored!  I took this picture with a weird plastic lens

attachment that let's me put a Holga camera lens on my Canon.  You have to self focus , but it gives a sorta

fun vintage look to the picture without editing!

246/365 Best Friends

Today we celebrated Madison's birthday.  She wanted to get her hair and nails done with her best friend

Sarah, go walk around the mall then have their pictures taken together.  That sounded great to me so that is

what we did today.  Madison and Sarah have been friends as long as I can remember.  I even have pictures

of them together before they were a year old!  I love that they have each other for everything!

245/365 Getting Gas

I ran errands all over town today.  It wasn't really an amazing day or anything.  But we have big plans

for tomorrow!  Sophia made me so mad today, she said "I don't want to sit around the house tomorrow,

like we always do!"  We are the least sit around the house people I know!  I am always dragging them to

do fun stuff and letting them take their friends.  She is jealous, because we are celebrating Madison's

13th birthday tomorrow.  It still make me so mad that she said that!

244/365 Homework

Sadie will take a very long time to get readjusted to the idea of homework.  Since I wanted to play with my

new toy, we sat on the front lawn while I took pictures and she attempted to recite her memory verse.

There were many tears, and lots of discussion about how smart Jacob Memmelaar is.  Apparently he can

do everything, that Sadie cannot do.  Poor Sadie.  Picture explanation:  There is nothing wrong with the

color she has dirt all over her face from rubbing wet dirty tears and snot all over the place.  We'll get them

 next week Sadie!
